Figure Portrait Drawing Workshop: This hands on workshop may take place in a classroom, art room, or multi purpose room. Students will enjoy drawing along with Eugene, learning a step by step procedure for drawing the human skull as it pertains to portrait drawing. Self portraits of Van Gogh, Rembrandt, and others will be
discussed. Each student will receive a detailed handout with illustrations showing all of the information covered in the workshop. A clothed model may be provided to give the students an opportunity to draw a portrait from life. Teachers may expand on this subject within their classroom, following the workshop. (Length: a minimum of 50 minutes is needed. A maximum of 12 hours is available.)
About the Presenter:
Eugene Clark received his BFA in Drawing and Painting from the College for Creative Studies, Detroit, MI. He received his MFA in Drawing from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI, with post-graduate study in printmaking at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfiled Hills, MI. For over 15 years, Eugene has taught drawing and painting at hundreds of high schools throughout Michigan and Ohio. He currently teaches drawing at the College for Creative Studies, Detroit, MI, and Macomb Community College, Macomb, MI.
